This module is part of Inlet Yoga’s 300-hr Advanced Seasonal Yoga™ Teacher Training. It is run in 20-hour modules spaced throughout the year. It is a pay as you go system picking and choosing the modules that serve you. You are not required to take all modules in order to attend this Anatomy and Movement training. We do ask that you have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training – if you have not completed a 200-hour training, please contact me to discuss options.

Module 1: Lower Body Anatomy and Movement
Saturday and Sunday noon-5PM
March 21 and 22
April 4 and 5
Each session will pulse between lecture, movement/experience, partner work, journaling, play, and discussion. Visual aids, self-massage tools, and props will aid in the “embodiment” of the information. There will be homework assignments between sessions to help with retention of information and identify areas that need more explanation. Homework will be reviewed at the start of each new session
Specifics to be covered include:
- Bones and muscles of the low back, hips, legs, and feet
- Directions of movement
- Pain science
- Fascia
- Biomechanics of Yoga
- Discussion of common pathologies:
- General low back pain, sciatica, SI joint issues, disc herniation, spinal stenosis, bursitis, hip replacements, IT band syndrome, knee issues, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions and more
- Asana and movement considerations when encountering the above issues
