On Sunday, November 13th, Allison Kane, E-RYT 500 and YACEP provider, will be offering a 5-hour Shoulder Deep Dive that is open to teachers, students and anyone with an interest in expanding their understanding of the shoulder girdle, how it works, and what can impede shoulder movement. Together you will explore bones, muscles and movement patterns as well as common restrictions. The goal of this session will be to have a better understanding of shoulder anatomy and provide perspective on common issues that we tend to encounter in our yoga practice. Note: this is not a therapeutics workshop – the focus will not be on “cures” or therapy – but improving knowledge that can inform how we can move our bodies and help others move theirs.
This session will pulse between lecture, movement/experience, partner work, play and discussion. Visual aids, self-massage tools and props will aid in the “embodiment” of the lecture.
Specifics to be covered include:
CE Credits from Yoga Alliance will be available.
